California is home to one of the most active water resource infrastructure sectors, and geosynthetics can play an enormous role with the creation and rehabilitation of these water resources.

The Palos Verdes Reservoir has been part of Los Angeles County’s extensive water service network since the late 1930s. The avocado-shaped facility, with a depth of 75 feet, provides 360 million gallons of water storage. To keep it operating efficiently and to extend its service life greatly, a plan was approved to make significant changes and upgrades.

The Raven CLI Construction installation team was awarded this large-scale project to design, fabricate, and install geocomposite and geomembrane liner along with a custom floating cover system. For this project the team is installing 60-mil (1.5-mm) liner and 45-mil (1.1-mm) floating cover panels. Raven geosynthetics sales and construction specialists can recommend complete geosynthetic solutions from project concept to completion. The team integrates a modular construction approach into project design and installation by producing large prefabricated geomembrane panels to be further fabricated on site. Quality factory panels are custom fabricated and mapped to exact specifications, eliminating up to 80% of field seams on site and significantly reducing labor, testing, weather exposure, and days on-site.
